SUMMARY:MP&F Welcomes New Spring Interns and Externs
DESCRIPTION:Five interns and two externs have joined the staff of McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations for the spring. The internship program is for college seniors\, while the extern program is designed for recent graduates who are exploring career options. \n“Interns and externs at McNeely Pigott & Fox gain practical public relations experience\,” said MP&F Senior Partner Mark McNeely. “They collaborate on numerous projects and make real contributions to the services we provide our clients.” \nThe spring 2010 interns and externs are\:\n• Tricia Tumlinson      (Bronxville\, N.Y.\; Vanderbilt University senior)\n• Lauren Hale              (Knoxville\, Tenn.\; Middle Tennessee State University senior)\n• Victoria Malkin           (Chicago\, Ill.\; Vanderbilt University senior)\n• Mallory Phillips          (Waverly\, Tenn.\; Middle Tennessee State University senior)\n• Elliot Steinbaum       (North Shore\, N.J.\; Vanderbilt University senior) \n• Megan Deardorff       (Social Circle\, Ga.\; University of Memphis School of Law alumna)\n• Amanda Reinbold     (Nashville\, Tenn.\; University of Tennessee alumna) \nTricia Tumlinson is a senior at Vanderbilt University majoring in human and organizational development.  A New York native\, she completed a public relations internship last summer with The Brooks Group in New York City\, where she gained experience in product PR. In the fall of 2008\, she served as an intern in the development office of the English National Opera in London. She is also an active member of Kappa Delta sorority. Tumlinson will graduate in May 2010 and return to New York to work in fashion PR. \nLauren Hale is a senior at MTSU majoring in marketing with business administration and Spanish minors.  Last summer\, she completed a marketing internship with Vanderbilt Athletics\, where she focused on football season ticket sales and local community events. Hale is a peer mentor for Murfreesboro Inner City Ministry and an active member of Pi Sigma Epsilon Professional Fraternal Organization\, helping raise over $4\,000 for the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition. She is also involved with Raiders for Christ with recent mission trips to New York City and Chicago. She will graduate in May 2010.\nVictoria Malkin is a senior at Vanderbilt University majoring in human and organizational development.  Malkin completed an internship this fall with Nashville’s Colliers Turley Martin Tucker in the retail brokerage department. A native of Chicago\, she served as assistant to the marketing director at Chicago’s 900 Shops for JMB Realty Corporation last summer. In the summer of 2008\, she interned at Tiller\, LLC\, doing financial marketing and consulting for Fortune 500 companies. Malkin is the co-chairwoman of membership recruitment for Kappa Delta sorority and tutors at the Andrew Jackson Boys and Girls Club in Nashville each week.\nMallory Phillips is a senior at Middle Tennessee State University majoring in public relations with minors in marketing and psychology. She serves as the homecoming director of the Student Government Association\, where she is in charge of event planning and marketing for the university’s homecoming events and serves on the executive board of the SGA. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and held several leadership positions\, including director of standards and ethics. A native of Waverly\, Tenn.\, she will graduate in May 2010.\nElliot Steinbaum is a senior at Vanderbilt University double-majoring in sociology and communications studies. Originally from north New Jersey\, Steinbaum worked as a productions and media relations intern for Major League Baseball’s TV network in the summer of 2009. Additionally\, Steinbaum interned at Berns Communications Group in New York City\, helping organize and run a press conference for client Hearts on Fire. He has also served as the alumni relations chairman for his fraternity\, Kappa Sigma. Steinbaum will graduate in May of 2010. \nMegan Deardorff is one of two externs joining the MP&F staff this spring. A native of Georgia\, she graduated cum laude from The University of North Carolina – Wilmington in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in English and communication studies. After completing law school in 2009 at The University of Memphis School of Law\, she had an internship in the federal public defender’s office for the Western District of Tennessee. Deardorff completed a PR internship in 2006 with the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation\, where she gained experience in media relations and event planning. She was a member of the UC Wilmington’s swim team and the Public Relations Student Network.\nAmanda Reinbold is the second extern joining MP&F this spring. A native of Nashville\, Amanda graduated in May with honors from the University of Tennessee\, where she received a degree in English literature with a minor in Spanish. She has completed a community relations internship with the Tennessee Department of Transportation\, where she worked closely with the department’s editor to edit newsletters and news releases.  She was the copy chief for UT’s EVOLVE\, a magazine-style yearbook. Reinbold volunteers with the Nashville Adult Literacy Council.\n
