MP&F Promotes Coppens, Despot

McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations has promoted Katie Coppens and Mitchell Despot to associate account executives. Both previously were staff associates.

“Katie and Mitchell have delivered excellent work during their time at MP&F,” said partner Alice Chapman. “We are proud of all they have accomplished here, and we are excited to watch them succeed in their new roles as associate account executives.”
Coppens, an Alabama native, joined MP&F in 2011 and has worked with a variety of client teams, including the U.S. Department of Labor’s Job Corps program, Harpeth Hall School, Sun & Ski Sports and the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference. While at MP&F, she has worked in such areas as event planning, media relations, advertising, grassroots campaigns, materials development and website development.
She recently provided support to the Tennessee Titans organization in its successful funding request to the Nashville Sports Council for nearly $30 million in stadium upgrades, including Jumbotrons, ribbon boards and speakers.
Coppens graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in political science. Before joining MP&F, Coppens interned with the Children’s Hospital of Alabama’s corporate communications department and worked in the media relations department at the University of Alabama. While at UA, she served as press secretary for the Student Government Association, editor of Platform online magazine and vice president of communication for Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Nashville native Despot graduated cum laude from Lipscomb University with a bachelor’s degree in oral communication and a minor in political science. Despot interned at MP&F in the spring of 2011 and joined the company as a staff associate later that fall.

While on staff at MP&F, he has worked with client teams including the U.S. Department of Labor’s Job Corps program, CSX Transportation, Nashville Predators, Feld Entertainment, Hennessy Industries and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, focusing in such areas as media relations, event planning, grassroots campaigns, materials development and website development.

Earlier this year, he assisted the Nashville Predators with communication support as the club renegotiated its lease with the Nashville Sports Authority, resulting in a renewed 15-year lease with Bridgestone Arena.
