Nashville RBI To Host Fifth Annual Wine Tasting Sept. 13

"Baselines and Grapevines" is one of youth program's largest fundraisers

Nashville RBI, which provides inner-city youth the opportunity to participate in free baseball and softball leagues, will host its fifth annual Baselines and Grapevines wine tasting fundraiser on Sept. 13 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event, hosted by Sambuca restaurant, will feature an assortment of wines from around the world, silent and live auction items, and live music.

“This fundraiser will let us continue to provide the equipment, uniforms and staff for the more than 900 kids who play in our leagues, in addition to sending kids to the regional RBI tournament,” said Reggie Whittemore, executive director of Nashville RBI. “Nashville RBI would not exist without events like our annual wine tasting.”

Tickets are $75, and all proceeds from the wine tasting benefit Nashville RBI. There are also a number of sponsorship opportunities available, ranging from a $500 MVP sponsor package to the $5,000 title sponsor package. For more information on sponsors, call Reggie Whittemore at (615) 642-2839.

To purchase tickets in advance, contact Eric Ward at eward@mpf.com or (615) 259-4000.

Nashville RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) uses baseball and softball and the power of teams to provide inner-city youth with opportunities to play, to learn and to grow, inspiring them to recognize their potential and realize their dreams. Nashville RBI started in 1996 with a grant from Major League Baseball. The Nashville chapter now involves more than 900 boys and girls ages 5 to 18, and is designed to promote youth interest in baseball and softball, promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the games, increase the self-esteem of disadvantaged children, and encourage academic participation and achievement.
