Tennessee Kidney Foundation To Host 11th Annual Gift of Life Walk

Noncompetitive Walk Promotes Organ Donation and Raises Awareness of Kidney Disease

The Tennessee Kidney Foundation will host its annual Gift of Life Walk on Sept. 11 at River Park in Brentwood.

The walk is a community-based event where family, friends, colleagues and supporters of dialysis patients and organ transplant recipients come together to promote organ donation and raise awareness of kidney disease.

“Kidney disease is a battle fought by millions of people every day,” said Teresa Davidson, chief executive officer of the Tennessee Kidney Foundation. The Gift of Life Walk recognizes the courage of those who are in the fight, while raising awareness of the preventive measures people can take to fend off this deadly disease. We also aim to promote organ donation.”

Participants can register both individually or as groups of nine or more walkers. Those who raise $50 will receive the official Gift of Life Walk T-shirt, while other prizes will be awarded based on the amount raised. Live music, food and fun activities for children will also be provided at the Walk.

The Walk begins at 9 a.m., and registrations can be made online at www.firstgiving.com/tkf. For additional information, contact Kim Troup at (615) 383-3887 or at kim.t@tennesseekidneyfoundation.org.
