"Kicks For Books" To Benefit Hands On Nashville

Coca-Cola, Papa John's To Donate 100 Books for Every Titans' Field Goal

The Tennessee Titans’ field goal kicker will do more than score points for the team this season. For every field goal made by the Titans, Coca-Cola and Papa John’s will donate 100 books to Hands On Nashville (HON).

Hands On Nashville will distribute the books to several of its nonprofit partner agencies, including Book’em, St. Luke’s Community House, Fannie Battle Day Home for Children, and Safe Haven Family Shelter. Hands On Nashville provides volunteer resources and support to its nonprofit partner agencies throughout Middle Tennessee.

“HON partner agencies that will benefit from this generous donation are thrilled,” said Hands On Nashville executive director Brian Williams. “Many children in our community have a difficult time getting to the library, or have never had a book of their own. Organizations who serve these children will use the books to promote literacy and a love for reading.”

Said Coca-Cola senior pro sports marketing manager Heather Hucks, "We couldn't be more excited about this program with two of our favorite partners, Papa John’s and the Titans. We love it when fans watch Titans football with a Coke, and we love it even more that this season, those edge-of-your-seat field goal kicks will mean a win for kids no matter the outcome of the game."

Coca-Cola and Papa John’s also announced that for every $11.99 special purchased during the Titan’s season, which includes one three-topping pizza and two 20-ounce Coca-Cola products, a $1 donation will be made to Hands On Nashville. There are 43 Papa John’s locations in the Nashville area participating in this program. The funds raised will support volunteer programming Hands On Nashville provides for the community 365 days a year.
