Tennessee Hospitality Association Names Greg Adkins As CEO

Greg Adkins, a veteran association executive with broad legislative experience, has been named chief executive officer of the Tennessee Hospitality Association.

Adkins, who represents District 26 in Nashville and Davidson County’s Metropolitan Council, joins the lodging and restaurant group after serving as executive director of the Tennessee Public Transportation Association since 2007. There he managed the daily activities of the nonprofit professional association and advocated for public transit on both levels of government.

Earlier in his career, Adkins held the position of legislative services manager for the Tennessee Department of Transportation and was a research analyst for the state House of Representatives.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Greg’s background and experience in association management and government relations to be joining us,” said Bill Mish, general manager of the Doubletree Hotel Chattanooga and president of TnHA. “He understands our mission and will be a great asset to our team and to our members.”

In his new position, Adkins will oversee the day-to-day management and operations of TnHA and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association. He will also be responsible for a comprehensive legislation program and for maintaining membership and recruitment.

“I’m looking forward to working with the TnHA leadership and our members across the state,” said Adkins, who will assume his position July 14.

Adkins is also president of the board of directors for the Tennessee County Services Association, a statewide organization of mayors, county legislators and county highway officials, and continues as a board member of the Tennessee County Commissioners Association.

He received his juris doctorate from the Nashville School of Law and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.
